Digital Media Summit
This year's top takeaway ideas:Social Media:
- The Internet is shifting to mobile: 45% of the world will have mobile phones by 2016. This means that we should develop our websites with mobile in mind first.
- Amplify what we do via social media.
- People trust friends and family, not news.
- In posts, creativity, authenticity are important.
- Post when your friends are on Facebook.
- Content is king! Posts should be short, timely, and visual.
- Improve quality listening and viewing experience.
- People don't like to wait. Remember the 2 second rule for waiting. Within 5 seconds you can loose 50% of the audience.
these day?
Our radio magazine format is a perfect platform for many short radio messages that can be shared across Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Pinterest, and more. We will post regularly to these social networks.
How can you help share the gospel with Latin Americans using social media?
Go to thehappyvoice.org or lavozalegre.com and click on LISTEN, then select a radio series and message. While the message is playing "like it" on your favorite Social Network listed above, and ask your friend to SHARE it with their Latin American friends.
Disappointing News from Guatemala
Rick Harper, of Health Talents International, sent us this report on baby Seidy's eye exam:
Sadly, Seidy's condition could not be corrected...sorry.
Being born premature, the overexposure of oxygen in the incubator damaged the nerves in her eyes and it has now been too long for any correction.
Our disappointment is no match for Seidy's family. But, we know God has a plan for her and will guide her as He wills.
Let's remember Seidy and her family in our prayers.
