Happy New Year!


Media is everywhere. From the rural farmer to the city business person, from the streets to the high-rises of South America and beyond, access to electronic technology is multiplying around the world. It’s a technological tsunami of opportunity for Christians to share the loving message of Christ!

God in his divine providence has enabled us to develop and use our talents during “such a time as this”. Queen Esther was chosen by God to be used at just the right time to save the Jewish nation, Esther 4: 14.

We too, are seriously looking at God’s mission for us at “such a time as this”. Now is the time for His message to penetrate the hearts and homes of millions of people every day.

1. Pray- Prayer is the foundation for every spiritual endeavor. Through prayer you can go to the mission field every day and play an essential role in media outreach. Every new radio speaker, technician, script writer partnering with us have specific needs that you can pray about. Creativity, talent, equipment, and open doors for the distribution of Christ’s message are just a few of the ongoing needs.

2. Give- Face it, it takes money to do quality media programs. But when you consider the large potential impact and the relatively low cost-per-person of using these methods, investment in missionary media makes since. Yes, everyone who does this work operates “by faith”, depending on God to supply the required finances through individuals, churches, and other partners.

This snowball is used to spread the loving, good news of Jesus Christ. The Snowball USB microphone is the latest generation of technology which allows the radio speaker to create and produce with a laptop from the mountains of Colombia, to the desktop in his home office.

“Bienvenidos amigos y amigas…” Iliana and Mario Motino and their family love Jesus and want to share the Gospel. From their home office her light and breezy voice welcomes the radio listener to the opening of the radio segment Consejos de Vida. Next, Mario’s strong, sincere voice continues with a culturally relevant, Bible based messages on Christian living.

Yes, that’s reaching out to the heart-talk of Latin American families. The truth and vitality of Jesus’ message for people’s lives is then sent over the airwaves. Volunteers like the Motinos need the tools to do the job. The Snowball microphone gives them the ability to record a broadcast quality program, which also increases the listener’s interest in the spiritual message.

We need to supply several Snowball USB microphones to volunteers that are ready to record now. This $160.00 microphone combined with our broadcasting capabilities will give our volunteer speakers a potential audience of 187 million households in Latin America. Our new Spanish radio program La Voz Alegre, The Happy Voice will target people who don’t know Jesus yet. They will discover the value of having Christ at the center of their lives through the hope and purpose which is found only in Him.
Families and individuals will be strengthened with clear guidance in many of the basic areas of life: marriage, parenting, and other relationships. Professional advice is also given on financial, health, and a variety of topics of interest. Some popular Latin music will be inserted to grab and hold the listener’s attention.

Interwoven in the hour are spiritual Bible-based messages which point clearly to Christ as the answer to life’s challenges. Free Bible correspondence courses will be offered throughout the hour to encourage a deeper study of God’s will for their lives.

November 1: Monday night at 9:00-10:00 PM EST La Voz Alegre, The Happy Voice begins broadcasting to Latin America from Radio Miami International, WRMI 9.995 kHz shortwave. Also, the program will be streaming live at WRMI.net. Invite your friends to listen in! From Mexico to South America, La Voz Alegre, The Happy Voice will be broadcast. The strongest radio signal will be in the Caribbean, including Cuba.
Follow-up in Cuba: An address, P.O. Box, in Matanzas, Cuba will be broadcast as the contact point for Bible Study requests and concerns. In 2008 a similar effort resulted in over 300 baptisms.

University Students: Post-modern, or not, they love using media!

Listening to students record radio scripts and negotiating for radio airtime was a thrill. It was all a part of a series of special classes in Spanish which I taught at the 87th Harding Bible Lectureship.

• La Radio: Negociando la Radiodifusión de su Programa con su Emisora (Radio: Negotiating the Broadcasting of Your Program with Radio Station)

Helping to spark an interest in young people to launch their dreams for sharing Christ, through understanding some of the realities of radio production and broadcasting, was main goal. Students came to class with their laptops ready to download the free audio recording program Audacity and to learn editing techniques. Students from both the USA and Latin America attended each session. Some expressed interest in becoming involved immediately.

- “I would like to produce a Christian radio program to share the love of Christ to people my age in Costa Rica.”
-“I want to do mission work somewhere in Latin America. Using media to do that is the way to go.”

Living in an age where our young people grow up as experts in technology, now is the time to teach them to use it for the Lord. While there are thousands of doors waiting to be knocked, there are millions of doors waiting to be opened for Christ through the use of media. The ease with which these young people use their computers and other technologies opens up a great opportunity for sharing Christ with the world. Hopefully, some will adopt the vision: Accelerating Evangelism in Latin America through Media.


Ministers: Let’s study the Bible together using media!

DVD copies of the Spanish television program Con La Biblia Abierta are being put in the hands of more and more local evangelists. Requests for this evangelistic tool are increasing.

- “We will use the 126 programs in home Bible study groups, personal evangelism, marriage enrichment, and more,” shares Cruz Hernandez of Houston.
Spanish conferences in both Orlando, Florida and Tulsa, Oklahoma brought over 40 evangelists and church leaders requesting sets of DVD’s for use in their local ministries. Con La Biblia Abierta is currently being broadcast weekly in 23 countries throughout North and South America. But, having the program in the hands of active evangelists, for immediate viewing, is fantastic! This is another form of personal evangelism that you are providing through this ministry.
