Reaching out to the Latin American World

Some people are just fun to be around.

Is it their smile, the things they say, or that they have a great attitude about life?

That is what it felt like when Ubert Romero and Jose Castillo Jr. were recording Verdadero Vida, The Real Life, in the studio together.

In this radio message Jose shares some of the teachings of Jesus that really make us think, "What does Jesus believe are the most important things in life?"

In the second half of the radio message Ubert interviews Jose for greater insight and application.  Jose, with his calm and personal delivery, combined with Ubert’s enthusiasm are a great mix for our listeners.

We are blessed to have these talented men working together to bring life-changing messages to our listeners that tune into the weekly La Voz Alegre radio hour.

Remember last year’s Conferencia Nacional Juvenil, National Youth Conference in Cuba?  Well, here we go again! July 19-22

Lord willing we will be in Cuba with more than 250 young people that will travel from Cuba’s 16 provinces to attend the conference in Matanzas.

These young people will be travel across country by bus, flatbed trucks, and anything that has 2 wheels or more.  Last year some planned to arrive by train, but never did due to maintenance problems.  I only mention this to inspire you to partner with us in prayer for these young people.  We also have people traveling from Tennessee, California, Texas, and Florida to participate, teach, and inspire the youth of Cuba for Jesus.

Listen, Watch, and Share

Have you ever wondered, “God, how can we multiply our efforts to share your Word?”

Last week, Alexander emailed from El Salvador with a special request, “Please send us radio programs that we can broadcast on our local radio station.”  He added, “For many years we have been listening, watching, and sharing the television program, Con la Biblia Abierta, With the Open Bible, with much success.  But, we have worn out all of the VHS copies teaching people about Christ.  We have used the tapes in home Bible studies and at church services too.”  Praise God! 124 television programs, in DVD format, are now on the way to Alexander. From these programs, he can pull the audio to transmit on the local radio broadcast. 

But we want to make it easier for Alexander, and Christians everywhere, to listen, watch, and share all the Christ-centered programs that we are producing and broadcasting

The dream: To develop a website where people can access and download all of our Christian media programming via their computer or smartphone.

Jesus enjoyed having people gather around his feet, listening to his words, and receiving hope for their lives.  As missionaries work in primitive countries, they learn the value of telling stories around the fire to the people in their village huts.  Today, we are blessed to bring Jesus’ true stories of hope to people listening around the world through various media platforms. People tell us they enjoy hearing the gospel on the radio program, La Voz Alegre, The Happy Voice.  This program’s magazine format has been well received. Topics include: Unforgettable Conversations with Jesus, Cooking with the Open Bible, Advice for Life, With the Open Bible, Biblical Archeology, Life in Perspective, and more will be scheduled for listening on the Web site.

Watch

As in El Salvador, and in many Latin American countries, the television program has been watched via broadcast channels, and also using VHS tapes and now DVDs.  Today several Latin American congregations watch them for instruction in Sunday morning Bible classes, and even worship.  We hear of families and individuals being strengthened and churches growing.

Soon the programs can be watched via our new Web site that will function through smartphones and computers.  Please pray for the launch of this incredible tool for the Lord’s kingdom.

We love to share the Good News of Christ!  We want to freely offer the following :

• ·      A Spanish-language library of our practical and spiritual programing to help share the Good News with Latin Americans.
• ·      Enroll in a free Bible correspondence course with our partners at World Bible School.
• ·      Evangelists, who want to expand their media outreach, will be able to login, select a series of programs, and then share it through their own media outlets. 

People are hungry for Christ-centered programs that inspire faith, hope, and love. Thank you for partnering with us in prayer, finances, and encouragement.

Obstacles need to be prayed away!  The closer we get to launching this tool the harder Satan works to slow us down.  I listened to my grandson Braden sing via Facetime the other day, “My God is so big, so strong and so mighty there’s nothing my God cannot do!”
